Remember Google? (Of course you do) Google has finally managed to bring Voice to the iPhone (as well as WebOS) without having to pass through the respected application approval process. How you may ask, doesn’t Apple control the content on an iPhone? Whilst that is true, Google has by passed this process through the induction of a HTML5 application. Senior Product Manager Vincent Paquet, said that Google Voice’s web app should work with any capable HTML5 web browser, however the main focus was Apple’s iPhone and Palm’s Pre. — Once again Google, well-played.

The application works in a similar sense to the mobile Gmail site, caching your contacts in a browser page. The Google Voice web app allows for the standard voice features, writing SMS, checking your inbox, making phone calls and listening to voice messages. (According to Engadget the latter is not working correctly, as of yet.) If you want to take this service for a spin, point your mobile browser to http://voice.google.comThis service is still restricted to the United States, with no word as of yet if it will be coming to Australia.
